Generating sales on Instagram means shifting your focus to business instead of simply growing your audience

Generating sales on Instagram doesn’t need to be a scary thought. By shifting the focus of your social media campaigns, you should have no problem increasing revenue from Isntagram and social media.

To get an idea of the type of business I’m talking about… Instagram recently revealed that it has over 800 million monthly users. That’s twice the population of the entire United States.

You probably already knew that, but harnessing some of that social power is a daunting task. The good news is, if you take action on the following these 6 tips, you’ll start generating sales on Instagram right away, and finally take control of your social media brand.

1). Switch to a business profile so your customers and clients have an easy to click call-to-action

This is the first step to start using Instagram for business which will let you see a ton of analytics and data about your followers (for example: their age, gender, demographic, and location).

It also gives you and tells you when is the right time to post, according to the impressions and people you’ve reached with your posts.

By switching to a business profile make life easier for potential customers to find you, it gives you the ability to add a ‘Call’ button and directions for your business.

2). Manage Instagram Pages directly from Facebook

This is a major step towards a simpler social media game for content creation and marketing purpose. One thing to remember is that all social networks have their own community, and one size doesn’t necessarily fit all. Keep this in mind when writing the copy of your post, and it will pay off in the long run. ?

  • Link your Instagram account with your Facebook account – makes life easier by allowing you to avoid having to queue up two posts
  • Edit your Instagram account details from Facebook
  • Create Instagram Ads directly from Facebook

This has turned into a pretty cool option for some of our clients, while others are too focused on Instagram to bother with Facebook right now. At the end of the day, it’s up to you the business owner which way to push forward.

3). Instagram drives sales to small businesses who make it a priority

The Instagram engagement rate beats not only the other social media channels but also nearly every other traffic source, 45% of user active shoppers make a purchase after seeing a photo on Instagram.

  • Invest in good quality pictures
  • Interact with your followers
  • Tell them where to buy

4). Drive people to your website with a clear and short call to action in your Instagram profile & bio

First of all you’re not doing a monologue, start interacting with your followers.

Create content for your photos that people would like to share, tell them why you’re selling that product, or offering that specific service. and last but not least ask yourself this questions to have an idea:

  • Is it good for the Environment?
  • Will your service help them to save more money?
  • Are you the best out there in your field?

Try as much as you can and always track your efforts, that way you can see which works better for you or your company and you can stick with that.

5). Instagram (and other social networks) reward consistency over time

Consistency is really important on Instagram, both when posting as well as interacting with others. A good rule I try to follow is to post between 1 to 2 times per day, and to follow a couple hundred people per day. Swing back around at the end of the week and unfollow those who didn’t follow you back.

By posting more often, the more you posts the , using Hashtags strategically you will gain more followers.

  • Post more often, between 1 to 3 times a day
  • Create content to build an eager tribe awaiting your next post
  • Follow (and unfollow) new users daily to get in front of new accounts and faces

6). Reach out to influencers in your niche, and share audiences with them

This is one of the most effective way to start growing and building your online following, and the good news is no one does it because (a) it’s hard, and (b) it takes effort.

You can generate strong word-of-mouth about your business by reaching out and interacting with the influences in your niche; remember that by doing this you’re playing the long-term game. I love the long-term game it really pays off.

Find influencers in your industry and scroll into their feeds; this should take 2–3 minutes. You’re looking for engagement, and trying to gauge how powerful they are, and how much time/money (remember, time is money) you want to spend getting your product or service in their hands.

Here’s are some important things to look for when qualifying influencers:

  • Do they interact with their followers? – Pay attention to the engagement! This will weed out fakers who have bought their followers
  • How often do they post to Instagram?
  • How many followers do they have?
